The first image is by an artist who uses 3 programs to accomplish his work. He models the character and/or the head armour using a program called Z-brush which is a vertex modeler. After he is happy with the model he exports the scene into another program called Vue 7, in this program he uses Vues texturing capability, he uses an add on to this package which is called Skinvue which is specially designed for making skin textures he makes the most of the advantages of a better and more detailed renderer. After he is finished making the textures to his liking he then exports the scene into photoshop to do his finishing touches.

Melissa is an artist who recently had her work put in the Bear Gallery, Pioneer Park, Fairbanks, Alaska. she used a variety of programs in her workflow. She starts off by posing her models in a program called Poser 7 when she finished posing the bears she imported into Vue 6 pro where she created the landscape and textures for it, she then moved on to make the atmosphere how she wanted it so she added her moon and stars and altered settings to create the sky effect she was after, she then UV mapped the bottle prop to give it a label and used one of Vue's proceural textures to texture the bottle. To create the aurora she used poser 7 again using cloth plains and the material room to give the desired effect then exported back into vue and rendered.
This left her with a rather plain picture so she did postwork in photoshop to correct levels and add filters to finalise the peice and make it more colourful and appealing to the eye.
